More than a language school

Studyfreunde is a German language learning centre in Accra, Ghana, founded in 2025 by a qualified German teacher who made the move from Germany to Ghana with a clear vision: to bring structured, joyful and high-quality German education to one of West Africa’s most vibrant cities.

Accra is home to a growing community of expat families, bilingual children and adults with deep ties to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many of these families struggled to find German classes in Accra that truly met their needs. German lessons for young children, heritage language support for bilingual kids, exam preparation for adults planning to relocate. Studyfreunde was founded to fill that gap.

Today we offer small group German and English classes in Accra for children from age 2, teenagers and adults, as well as self-paced online German courses for adult learners worldwide.

Our programmes include Early Learning for very young children aged 2 to 5, German Classes for all ages and levels from A1 to C1, English Classes, Online German Courses and the Studyfreunde Club, a space for children and teenagers filled with activities, events and community.

Studyfreunde was built on a shared belief: that children thrive when they feel safe, seen and genuinely supported. Our team brings together over two decades of combined experience in education, therapy and child development, across two cultures and two continents.

What makes Studyfreunde different is not just what we teach, but how we teach it. Every lesson is warm, structured and carefully designed around the needs of each individual learner, from the very little ones discovering their first German words to adults preparing for a new chapter in Germany

Our Vision

To be the leading destination for German language education for bilingual children and families in Ghana. To build a German-medium learning environment where Mathematics, Science and other subjects are taught together with language through CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). To open a bilingual kindergarten by July 2027 and offer self-paced online courses for adult learners across Africa, so you can study around your schedule and pay easily in Ghana cedis.
