A German Language School Built Around Every Learner
Studyfreunde is a German language school in Accra, Ghana, founded in 2025 by a qualified German teacher from Germany. We provide structured, personal and engaging German education for children, teens and adults in a warm learning environment where every learner is known and supported.
Accra is home to a growing community of families and individuals with connections to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as learners studying German for school, work, university, relocation or personal goals. Studyfreunde was created to offer German classes in Accra that combine professional teaching with the individual attention of a small learning environment.
Today, we teach German from early childhood through to advanced adult levels. Our in-person groups are intentionally small, with a maximum of four learners, giving students more opportunities to speak, ask questions and receive individual feedback. Lessons are structured around each learner’s age, level and goals, with a strong focus on building the confidence to understand and use German independently.
Our programmes include playful Early Learning for children aged 3 to 5, German classes for kids and teens, and German lessons for adults from beginner to advanced level. Beyond the classroom, learners can continue engaging with German through our library, reading activities and selected community events.

Vanessa
Founder & Lead Teacher
Born and raised in Germany, Vanessa is a qualified German teacher and the founder of Studyfreunde. She moved to Accra with a passion for creating German lessons that combine professional teaching with the personal attention learners often miss in larger language schools.
Her teaching is structured, encouraging and adapted to the individual learner. From young children discovering their first German words to teenagers strengthening their language skills and adults working towards personal, professional or academic goals, Vanessa believes that learners make the best progress when they feel confident, understood and actively involved in the learning process.
That philosophy continues to shape Studyfreunde today: small learning environments, thoughtful teaching and German lessons designed around real learners and their individual goals.
